Verification against EU law for a family member of a citizen of the Union
You are a Union citizen, living in the Netherlands and you want your family member to live with you. You want to apply for your family member for verification against EU law.
Proof that you as the Union citizen with whom the family member is staying in the Netherlands, meet one of the following conditions
Work in employment/for an employer
Work as a self-employed person
Study
Other (you must have sufficient means of support)
Explanation of sufficient means of support The source of your sufficient means of support (e.g. an inheritance, alimony, real estate, labour outside the Netherlands, foreign social security, pension or equity) is not relevant, providing they are at your disposal or you (as a citizen of the Union giving a stay) are entitled to (periodical) payments. Own means of support could also be the means of your partner (in marriage), a (registered) partner or a third person. If you have a spouse or a registered partner you must have proof of the income of this partner, in the form of a wage slip for example, or a bank statement from a shared account showing the income of your partner. If a partner or third person is involved, you should have a recent bank statement from a shared account showing the income of the partner or third person in question.

Registered partner
Unmarried/not registered partner
Child/grandchild up to 21 years of age of yourself or your spouse/registered partner
Child/grandchild up to 18 years of age of your unmarried/not registered partner
Please note: If both biological parents have custody of the child, and the child is in the Netherlands with only 1 of the parents, the IND assumes that the parent staying behind has given permission for the child's departure. You can demonstrate this with the 'Declaration of consent of the parent remaining behind' signed by the parent remaining behind.
